DTSBDC Staff Ann Sidney

Anne Sidney

(Rehearsal Director) is in her 17th season with the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company. She previously danced with DTSBDC for two years and served as associate director. Born in California and raised in Hawaii and Maryland, she has danced with DC Contemporary Dance Theater, Shadowdance, and DC Dance Theater, for which she also served as the director of outreach programs. She also works as an artist for the Wolf Trap Early Institute for Learning in the Arts Program. Ms. Sidney received a B.S. in nursing from Georgetown University and a certificate in laban movement and analysis from the Laban Institute of Movement Studies.

Katia Chupashko Norri (Associate Rehearsal Director) is in her eleventh season with Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company. She graduated with honors from The George Washington University where she majored in Business and Dance. She has participated in company teaching residencies at Georgetown and The George Washington University and has toured internationally with DTSBDC.  Mr. Burgess’ work, Becoming American, is inspired by her story. Most recently, she represented the company at a White House performance, at the request of President Obama.

Kelly Moss Southall (Dancer, Associate Artistic Director) received his MFA in Dance from The George Washington University and his BFA in Performance and Choreography from Ohio University. Prior to joining Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company, he had the opportunity to perform in works by Sean Curran, Azaguno African Dance Ensemble, and Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre.  Mr. Southall’s choreography has been performed at the American College Dance Festival and at Concordia University in Montreal.  In 2001 he won the US Midwest Championships in Traditional Irish Dance and qualified for the 2002 World Irish Dancing Championships. In addition to his work with DTSBDC, Southall is on the Theatre & Dance faculty at The George Washington University and is a real estate professional at the company he co-founded, Scout Properties, in Washington, D.C.


Ben Sanders

Ben Sanders (Dancer, Technical Coordinator) is a recent graduate of The George Washington University with a double major in theatre and dance. While at GWU, he had the privilege of working with artists such as Laura Halzack, Donna Uchizono, and Anthony Gongora, among others. Ben is happy to be working with DTSBDC again.
