DTSBDC spearhead several education and mentorship programs that serve Washington DC area youth

DTSBDC Asian American Youth Outreach Program

The DTSBDC Asian American Youth Outreach Program mentors 25-30 high school participants from public schools located in the District of Columbia all year through after school programming which focuses on healthy living and the arts. Culinary arts, nutrition, dance and the arts are explored through weekly after school classes and field trips to major cultural institutions. Students are also often matched with long term mentors in their fields of interest including Asian American studies, music and dance. Take a look at the youth program’s Facebook page

Georgetown Day School

DTSBDC runs a successful Summer Dance Intensive at Georgetown Day School in Washington DC. DTSBDC members teach modern dance and ballet technique classes, yoga, and Pilates. There are programs for young children and intermediate to intermediate/advanced teens. The 2014 session takes place June 9-20, 2014. Visit the GDS Summer Dance Programs page for more information.

Episcopal High School

DTSBDC  manages the dance program at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA.  DTSBDC dancers teach classes in a variety of dance genres such as ballet, modern, choreography and hip hop to enhance the students’ understanding of movement. Students perform works choreographed by DTSBDC dancers and themselves.
