DTSBDC rehearsals for Picasso Dances continue at the Kreeger Museum
Visitors to the Kreeger Museum in Washington DC on February 21, 2015 were once again able to experience the choreographic process as the company rehearsed for Dana’s new modern dance work, Picasso Dances. The DTSBDC dancers rehearsed four sections of the new work amid the museum’s collection of Picasso paintings. Each section is inspired by one of these paintings. Amongst the full house were participants of the Diplomats of Dance Society group visit who in addition to watching the rehearsal were treated to a wonderful tour of the museum’s galleries by Helen Chason, Head of Public Relations and a champagne toast reception with Dana and the dancers.

Kreeger Museum visitors stopped to view DTSBDC’s first open rehearsal on January 24, 2015. The company is rehearsing a new work Picasso Dances which will be performed March 26. Open rehearsals continue February 21 and March 14. More Information

The rehearsal took place on January 24, 2015 and was one of three open rehearsals that will be held during DTSBDC’s residency at the museum. Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company is in residence at the Kreeger Museum in Washington, DC and will premier a new work, Picasso Dances March 26, 2015. The company is holding open rehearsals in the museum main gallery through March. Here are some photos of the dancers rehearsing amongst some of the famous Picasso works on January 24, 2015. Open rehearsals continue February 21 and March 14 and are included with the price of the museum admission. The March 26, 2015 performance has already sold out but there is a wait list.

A celebration of the friendship between Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company was hosted by Ambassador of Peru Harold Forsyth and his wife María Verónica Sommer Mayer at their beautiful home recently. Guests were treated to a performance of Dana’s acclaimed dance, Chino Latino.
