Behind The Scenes with DTSBDC dancer Katia Norri

Go To breakfast
I’m a big fan of eggs!

Pre-performance ritual
Who doesn’t love a CVS run? Even if I don’t need anything, I still enjoy going before a big show, just makes me feel a little bit more prepared.

Favorite location performed with DTSBDC

Katia on tour in Egypt with DTSBDC in 2007

Kennedy Center always feels magical, but I still have images during the performance in Cairo, Egypt. That trip still remains one of my biggest adventures!

Travel must-have
I always travel with a scarf. It’s great for everything! Helps with sun and cold.

Favorite non-dance activity or hobby
I enjoy working on projects around the house. I also enjoy working on crafts to decorate the house. I love my trips to Michaels!

I started dancing when…
I was 7. I went once a week for a combination class which later bloomed into 5 days a week and competitions.

Childhood dream career
I’ve always loved having dance in my life. I feel blessed having the opportunity to work with the company.

Favorite DTSBDC piece
I think my favorite pieces are “Tracing” and “Mandala”. I think it’s partially because I was a freshman in college when Dana was working on “Tracings”. The style was very challenging and detailed.
