Tony Lee is in his first season with Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company. Originally from Chino Hills, California, Tony trained with Runqiao Du and Susan Mann at Towson University and Douglas Martin and Mary Barton at American Repertory Ballet. From 2019-2022 Tony danced full-time with Uptown Dance Company in Houston, Texas under the direction of Beth Gulledge-Brown, where he performed in classical and contemporary works by Krissy Richmond, Chet Walker, and Andre Silva. Throughout his career, Tony has danced with VT Dance, SLAM Hip Hop Dance Group, Centenary Stage Company, Connecticut Theater Dance, Pegasus Contemporary Ballet, and Olympic Ballet Theatre. He has had the pleasure to perform in original works by Joshua Peugh, Oleg Gorboulev, and Vincent Thomas and he danced alongside Ariana DeBose for Musicals with a Message. Most recently, Tony danced as a soloist with Connecticut Ballet under the direction of Brett Raphael. Tony graduated from Johns Hopkins University with degrees in Computer Science and Film & Media Studies and received the Louis Sudler Prize in the Arts, the Arts Innovation Grant, and the inaugural Studio North Grant.
