Jan Tievsky has been working with DTSBDC as a board member and educational consultant since 2000. She has founded, taught for and developed dance programs for Georgetown Day Lower/ Middle School, the Maryland State Department of Education (Gifted and Talented programs), the National Park Service, and Mt. Vernon College. Ms. Tievsky recently served on the regional board for the National Dance Education Organization and was acting head of the Washington Area Independent Schools Dance Education Association for more than 10 years. In addition to being a dancer and artistic director for Glen Echo Dance Theater, Ms. Tievsky also performed with Pola Nirenska Dancers (Kennedy Center), Sharon Wyrrick and Dancers (New York City), and was an artist-in-residence at ArtPark, the performing arts park of New York.
